Progress report for my Japanese Yosegi Marquetry
Putting the pieces together is not that easy; cutting them to the correct sizes takes time and patience. First, you are working with end grain all the time, so the work is very delicate. Second, when the piece of wood is only 10mm by 10mm, a discrepancy of 0.2 of a mm is enormous and can look ugly. Gluing the sticks together is tricky. I learned to keep things clean as this equated to less work down the line.
