Group members frequently win top prizes at the National Society Annual Competition

Marquetry is an inexpensive, satisfying and very portable hobby, that takes up little space.

It's easy to take your work home after a meeting to continue what you were doing or to try out the new thing you just learnt. You can then bring it back next week and amaze your friends or discuss new ideas.

A few words about the group.....

The Harrow Group has an active membership of people coming from a variety of backgrounds, from beginners to the most experienced marquetarians, male and female, young and old.

The Church where we meet

It's a modern, low-profile building on the corner of Rowlands Avenue and Uxbridge Road; about 5 minutes walk from the Harrow Arts Centre and Hatch End Station, with good parking facilities outside.

Talks and Demonstrations

Occasionally talks are presented at the club; these can be by members or visiting speakers. We also hold regular practical demonstrations.

Throughout the year

We attend various art and craft exhibitions in the area to display our work and to promote marquetry and our group.

Regular competitions

These are held in a range of progressive classes to incorporate all levels of expertise, and awards are presented during social evenings.

Good selection of wood veneers

Most of the prerequisites needed for marquetry are available during meetings at very reasonable prices.

Visitors are most welcome
